The Muppets parody Twilight Breaking Dawn
Thor trailer is marvellous!
I’ve never been much of a fan of Thor! Preferring his comic book contemporaries Spider-Man and X-Men! However, any film starring Natalie Portman (Black Swan) is worth a look, right?

The Dark Knight and Inception get App Editions

Two of Chris Nolan’s most successful movies now have dedicated App Editions on the App Store!
“For many, watching a movie is a social activity and App Editions are the first mobile product to deliver this capability on a global scale. They offer a fully connected experience, allowing viewers to engage with others around the world in real-time through Facebook and Twitter. In 2011, Warner Bros. will release a full slate of App Editions including new release and catalog films.” said Thomas Gewecke, President of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, in a press release.
Although I prefer to watch movies on Blu-ray disc. This is an interesting development and no doubt more movie studios will seek new and innovative ways to monetize their catalogues in the App and social media space.

Super 8 Super Bowl trailer captures Amblin’s wonder years!

Nowadays it’s very rare that a movie trailer elicits a sense of enigmatic wonder, which was commonplace during my formative cinema-going years! The last time I got goosebumps was watching the teaser for Disney/Pixar’s WALL-E.
Within 31 seconds JJ Abrams (Star Trek) and Steven Spielberg’s (Jurassic Park) Super Bowl TV Spot has distilled the creative impulse behind my childhood ambition to embrace storytelling technology…
A mise-en-scène that transported me back to the first time I saw Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, in the theatre, not long after I’d suffered a serious head injury at Primary School; two movies that have profound familial significance; Star Wars received special mention at my mother’s funeral service.
Super 8 embodies why I ♥ movies! Watch the Super Bowl TV Spot here.
Transformers turn to the dark side

After the wonder of watching Super 8, which encapsulates why I love movies, I had zero expectations for the Transformers: Dark of the Moon Super Bowl trailer. B-O-O-M!?!
Super 8 trailer to premiere during Super Bowl
A new trailer for the super secret Super 8 is rumoured to debut during the Super Bowl.
Will James Cameron direct Battle Angel Alita?
Given that the self-proclaimed ‘King of the World’ is directing the two Avatar sequels…
Magneto from X Men: First Class

Matthew Vaughn has sent /Film exclusive photos of Magneto (shown above) and Professor Xavier after an unofficial X-Men: First Class cast photo was posted on the internet. This lead to mostly negative reactions across the social media space, and the director wanted to set the record straight.
“I’d say this is more like Casino Royale than [JJ Abrams] Star Trek. If you think about it, Casino Royale just totally rebooted Bond — they kept what they wanted and got rid of what didn’t work. You sort of saw Bond become a double O for the first time and yet it didn’t seem to matter [what they changed]. I think my rule is to make a stand alone movie that is as good as possible and do as many nods and winks towards the comics and the other films, but not get tied up in knots worrying about that. It’s sort of a stand-alone movie in my mind with a reboot being a real reboot. Because if you’re a stickler for continuity, in X3 when you see Patrick Stewart…. well, I don’t want to give away anything about the plot but we’ve been as respectful of the other movies and comics as we I can feasibly can be without compromising the story.”
X-Men and X2 were fantastic comic book adaptations under the auspices of auteur Bryan Singer (The Unusual Suspects). First Class has much to live up to and fears of a Fantastic Four fail should be assuaged by stellar scribe Jane Goldman (Stardust and Kick-Ass).
Wish Jane would write for Doctor Who, too. Jonathan Ross, Jane’s other half, has discussed the possibility with me on Twitter.
